While updating many different pages on the Self-Service Portal (SSP), we’re working on improving the overall end-user experience. Because our goal is not only to improve the experience on various pages on your SSP, but also how users find their way through all these pages.

Rethinking the SSP involves many steps and changes. That’s why we launched an open beta for the new SSP. In this beta, you’ll experience the new direction of the SSP. For instance, you’ll find a new look for the startpage, a more unified look for the Incident and Change cards, a renewed Personal Profile page, and much more.

Curious about the future of the end user experience? Make sure you're not logged in to the Operator section, and simply add ‘/services/navigation-frontend/ssp/home’ behind your environment’s URL, e.g. ‘mycompany.topdesk.net/services/navigation-frontend/ssp/home’. And feel free to share this beta with your end users. Their feedback is invaluable for creating an end product that actually works for you.

As it’s an early version, you’ll probably run into things that don’t work the way they should yet. Over the coming few months, we’ll continue fixing these.

For more information, and a place to leave feedback, see our TOPdesk innovation platform.

Loving the new look so far - I have a couple of pieces of feedback:

  • the use of the entire screen is long overdue (and gets my director  off my back, thank you!)
  • the tiles look much better, initial viewers have said how much neater the new SSP is

However(!)

  • the “logo” is too small at the top
  • Same for the "News Requests Service disruptions" line
  • Does the Search bar need to be quite so big?
  • Where text in “tiles” is different lengths the space they take up on new SSP differs, will this be rectified in the live version? (Happy to explain further - mainly occurring in subpages)

Will we have the option to switch over or will it be a “big bang” launch?

The end of March (proposed launch period)  coincides with Easter for many countries, so launching automatically and possibly not having staff capabilities to deal with ensuing issues may be difficult - I am a team of one and on leave at the end of March so also entirely selfish question!!

All in all though, great job!!

I completely agree that the search bar is too large, @Andrew Crawford ! Could it be smaller, or could it be possible to select its height (within reason, I suppose there should be a minimum height)?

To clarify this point (in a subpage):
Where the text in the links (KI, Service, URL etc) differ in the legacy SSP this does not matter, but in the new SSP this means that there is a disjointed view (See image with arrows)

Is this a teething issue or is there a way of rectifying this in the current setup?
