Notifications & settings

Smart notifications keep you engaged, without overwhelming you.

How to set up: go to Profile → Settings → Notifications, and choose for each event: email, in-app, or off.

Recommended profiles

• Starter: @mentions on, replies to your posts on, new topics only in 1–2 key categories.
• Power user: @mentions on, replies to your posts and followed topics on, new topics on in key categories, email for events on.
• Focus mode: everything in-app, monthly summary by email. 

Following categories

You can also subscribe to entire categories, such as Q&A, Best Practices, or Product Updates, so you're automatically notified whenever something new is published there. We recommend always subscribing to Product Updates, so you never miss a change to TOPdesk.

Smart email management

Create folder rules or labels (e.g. “Community”) to keep your inbox tidy, and enable push for @mentions while disabling it for summaries.

Pausing notifications

Busy period? Switch temporarily to in-app-only notifications.
