Keeping user accounts up to date when people join, change roles or leave your organisation can take a lot of manual work. With SCIM user provisioning, you can now automatically keep TOPdesk users in sync with Microsoft Entra ID.

SCIM is an industry-standard protocol for exchanging user information between an identity provider and other applications. TOPdesk now supports SCIM as a source for Supporting Files imports.

How does it work?

An administrator sets up an OAuth 2.0 client to create a secure connection between Microsoft Entra ID and TOPdesk. Entra ID then provisions users through the TOPdesk SCIM API.

Using the familiar Supporting Files import functionality, you decide how those users and their fields are mapped to TOPdesk persons or operators.

Once enabled, changes in Entra ID — including user deletions — are synchronised roughly every 40 minutes.

SCIM also gives you more control over the data you share. Instead of importing a broad directory, TOPdesk only receives the users and attributes that your identity provider is configured to provision.

SCIM provisioning is currently available for Microsoft Entra ID, with support for other SCIM-compatible identity providers coming next.
