Hi Gang,

I was wondering if there is an easy way to get the URL of a specific asset in the asset management?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to find a specific asset card, the simplest approach is usually just to open TOPdesk and searching for the specific asset by name or number using the search option. The URL you see when you open the asset does not include a unique identifier and will not work as a direct link to that asset.

If you need the link to an asset for integrations or action sequences, you can get the unique ID of the asset via a GET request using the TOPdesk API.

In some cases, for example when used in reporting, assets linked in reports or widgets generate clickable references that you could also use.

One thing to keep in mind regardless of what you use is that access rights still apply. Even if the link itself works, the person or operator opening it will only see the asset if they have permission in TOPdesk.

If you need more options or help, please let us know if you need the link for the operator section or the self service portal and what you need it for.

Hope this helps!

What do you mean by a URL? Could you clarify what exactly you want to do with the URL and for what purpose you want to use it? Maybe then I can help you further.

If you want the direct link to an asset, you have to open that specific asset card.

In the General widget you click on the edit button (pencil) with the right mouse button.

In the contextmenu that appears you choose the option to copy the hyperlink.

Hope this is what you mean.
